The facility at 1800 Larimer is a 22 story, 500,000 square foot office complex
that will be the new headquarters for Xcel Energy. The project is a
Certified LEED Platinum Level project, one of the first in the Colorado region.
The site is located in downtown Denver and has four levels of underground
parking. Various methods of shoring were used to ensure a safe excavation,
including lag & beam and hydraulic shoring. Conventional excavation, as
well as hydro excavation, was used to safely expose existing underground
utilities to allow new services to be installed to the building.
