DESOTO SOLAR ENERGY CENTER

DeSoto Solar Energy Center - DeSota County, FL

The DeSoto Solar Energy Center is the largest solar photovoltaic plant in the United States. Producing 25 megawatts of electricity, it provides enough energy to power roughly 3,000 homes. The plant utilizes SunPower’s PowerTracker™ Ground System technology to maximize solar exposure to photovoltaic cells. Belair provided labor, material, and equipment necessary for the pier foundation installation. Two crews utilized Multi-Terrain Loaders with vibratory attachments for the installation of the driven pier system. Keys to success for this a-typical project included detailed planning for material deliveries and handling. Belair’s LEAN pre-planning helped to complete this project ahead of schedule.
