COLORADO HISTORY CENTER

Colorado History Center - Denver, CO

This project involved the utility relocation of the public sanitary and storm sewer for the new $111 million Colorado History Center project. The Center is being relocated to accommodate the proposed $238 million Colorado Judicial facility in Denver, Colorado. The proposed alignment was directly beside a 60 year old, 54” water conduit that had to remain active. Both conventional shoring, along with chemical injection soil stabilization methods, were used to shore the 20 foot deep excavation down Broadway, a 6-lane, major arterial way through downtown Denver. Traffic was to remain open in the adjacent lanes during construction. Both night and weekend work hours were required to meet the project schedule and maintain Right-of-Way requirements.
