RALPH L. CARR JUDICIAL CENTER

Ralph L. Carr CO Judicial Center - Denver, CO

This project included deep storm and sanitary connections made in Lincoln Street, 13th Ave and 14th Ave. Three new water connections were made in Broadway Street for the new fire and domestic water lines. Extensive exploratory work was performed prior to the start of our work to verify location and depth of the existing utilities. The identification of conflicts prior to construction gave the engineers time to make changes to the construction plans before the conflicts became a problem in the field. Extensive preplanning and coordination between Belair, Mortenson and all Denver entities was a must. Lincoln Street is a five lane major arterial way through downtown Denver. The new sanitary connections had to be made across four lanes of traffic while maintaining a minimum of one lane of traffic at all times. Denver police officers were used to keep traffic flowing during construction. Both night and weekend work hours were required to meet Denver Right of Way requirements. These work hours helped to keep our workers, subcontractors and the public safe during construction.
